Using Stefan-Boltzmann technology, the plate requires only one minute preheating in the microwave oven and reaches its maximum temperature 5 to 8 minutes after taking it out of the oven that is: when normal preheated plates are already cold, HotSmart plates are very hot and remain hot after half hour (most people eat in less than 20 minutes).
